What is it that compels folk to ignore warnings and do things like this?

I wonder what motived them. Could it be that they believe in freedom, and hate having theirs curtailed, possibly to the point rebellion? Could it be they need to touch something to get a true sense of its "realness". Perhaps it was a test of will and courage. Perhaps ego prompted them to impress.

I would understand.....
