Lichmera indistincta (Brown Honeyeater)

IUCN Status: Least Concern.

There's a spot I've found that's very quite, in the middle of the bush, but with a garden of bottle brush and Grevillia - simply perfect habitat for honeyeaters. The garden is edged with big log - a perfect seat. I sit and wait and watch and shoot.

With time the birds get less concerned by my presence, but this guy just wasn't aware I was there at all till I swung the lens around to him. His response was to start singing at me, which was a real treat because this species is a noted song bird. He kept it up long enough for me to get over my initial dumb struck awe, and get some shots.
