TAS, Cradle Mountain

It’s extremely hard to give a sense of scale in a photo like this. The highlands extend beyond the horizon even from this lofty perch. To give a clue though Hansen’s Peak is the outcrop in the middle of the shot, with Cradle Mountain to the right. There is a fellow hiker in an orange jacket standing on top of Hansen’s Peak. On my monitor they are merely a few orange pixels in a world of rock and wood.

If you are fit enough, and a little adventurous, I strongly recommend the trek up Mount Campbell. The track is poorly defined (I lost it on the way down), but at the top you have 360 degree views. The walk, both up and down, is full of jaw dropping outlooks that will force you to stop and just appreciate the utterly amazing world we all get the privilege to be a speck on.
