Hypsilurus boydii
Hypsilurus boydii (Boyd's Forest Dragon)
IUCN Status: Not assessed.
We stumbled upon this individual right near the car coming back from a long night searching for more allusive species. The other guys weren't very interested in this relatively common species and wanted to get going. So I had to hurry, and didn't get much of chance to get acquainted.
That sounds funny, but it's a real thing. You get to know something of the character of a individual and the greater species. Some are obliging and calm and great to photograph, others a flighty, crazy, argo or aggressive. When you've seen a species a few times, you quickly get a much better idea on where and how to find them, and how they will react.
I look forward to seeing this species again with a bit more time for introductions.
