IUCN Status: Endangered

One of the great joys of wildlife photography happens when you plan, and work, and things come together. I put a trail camera out at a spot I had suspected might have quolls, and it was confirmed. Then a friend and I returned to photograph them over a few nights.

On the first night, he got shots, and I didn't. On the last night, just before dawn, I got this shot. The conditions in the Tasmanian highlands in winter, were somewhat brutal (recent records lows of -13C). However, it was a wonderful time spent with great company and I couldn't be happier with this photo.

Sincere thanks to Rosemary Lincolne and Geneva Christian College who made it possible.
