Cacophis squamulosus (Golden-crowned Snake)

We found this snake out driving at night looking for frogs. This was a case where I was really lucky to have a reptile expert with me. I found out that most of Australia snakes are nocturnal, so those we see in the daytime are the tip of the icebreg.

I guess that would make some people want to stay inside. For some of us it means late nights looking for them.
