Stagonopleura bella (Beautiful Firetail)UICN Status: Least concernThis was shot at Melaleuca in the Tasmanian south west wilderness region a few years ago (before I started this site). It's timely that I upload it now, as I'm heading back there in a few weeks.
This species is common in the south-eastern part of the mainland, and in Tasmania. They roam in pairs through to large groups, and generally show off. They're tiny though, making photographing them tricky.
