Hirundo neoxena (Welcome Swallow) IUCN Status: Least Concern I've been incredibly busy this year, and my time with my camera in my hands has been limited. Using long focal length lenses well requires practice, and so I decided to work on something that would quickly push my skills in the right direction.
Welcome Swallows are are fast moving, quick turning fliers. I often think that of all the birds I see, this species flies simply for the pure joy of it. This one of a series of shots I took of this individual as he plucked an errant insect from the water.
