Artamus cyanopterus (Dusky Woodswallow)

IUCN Status: Least Concern

Taken at the Tasmanian Arboretum, this individual is a very grey example of this species, which are often have a browner colouration. Dusky Woodswallows extend from the Atherton Tableland down the east coast of Australia around the southern coast to Western Australia.

Woodswallows are not actually closely related to swallows. They taxonomic family Artamidae which include other genus like butcher birds.
