Oystercatchers are typically reclusive and uncooperative subjects, so when we happened upon this family that was so obliging it was a good day.

Oystercatchers are specially adapted to chase down and kill their preferred prey. Tales of vicious displays of speed, power and domination permeate memories of bivalves rendered asunder by specialise adaptations.
