Island ecology normally involves less diverse numbers of distinct species present. Whatever lack of species diversity Tasmania may have, it make up for in abundance. Tasmanian Pademelons are common… really common. Drive on any road and you’ll see Pademelon road kill at a surprising, even alarming, frequency.
Yet for their abundance, and the ease with which you can see them, there is always something wonderful spending time among them if you stop and notice.
