Trichoglossus haematodus moluccanus (Rainbow Lorikeet / Swainson's Lorikeet)

Status: Least Concern

A colourful blast from my home. They fly with dizzying speed through holes in in the vegetation, down verandas and anywhere they can show off and blow you mind. Watching them as a kid, I dreamt of freedom and speed.

In the summer the mango trees produce more fruit than can be eaten. The fermenting remainder is relished by these greedy drunkards who transform from aerial masters, into wonky sailors.
