Lathamus discolor (Swift Parrot)

IUCN Status: Critically Endangered

While on a recent pelagic birding trip one of the other folk showed me photos they'd taken of swift parrots a couple of days ago. I asked where (a bit taboo) and got vague directions in a large reserve. I added a day to my trip and spent it walking until I found them and happily spent hours watching these characters scampering among the blue gum blossom.
