Pandion haliaetus (Osprey)

IUCN Status: Least Concern
For a few years a pair of osprey lived around a large nest built just down the road from me. Over the 2021/2022 summer the nest fell out of the tree and unfortunately the birds appear to have move on.
Prior to this happening I was lucky enough to experience this early morning encounter of a breakfast plunge.
Update: over 2022 the male rebuilt the nest in the same spot. I didn't photograph them that year, but I believe they were able to rear at least one offspring.
Mental note: shoot ospreys again in 2023.
